The telescope is a magical instrument. The 11-inch diameter mirror of my Celestron C-11 gathers over 1000 times more light than the human eye. Even my smaller 92mm refractor can capture objects that are too faint to be seen naked eye. This allows viewing and imaging astronomical objects that are far fainter than the unaided eye can see. These objects lie at vast distances from Earth. The light which falls upon the CMOS sensor at the focus of my telescope left them thousands and millions of years earlier. Therefore, my telescope can also be considered a "Time Machine", since the images produced show these objects as they appeared at the time their light left them. Below are some of these images which capture this ancient light. Enjoy them, and consider the vast scale of our Universe!
