The telescope is a magical instrument. The 11-inch diameter mirror of my Celestron C-11 gathers over 1000 times more light than the human eye. This allows viewing astronomical objects that are far fainter than the unaided eye can see. These objects lie at vast distances from Earth. The light which falls upon the CCD sensor at the focus of my telescope left them thousands and millions of years earlier. Therefore, my telescope can also be considered a "Time Machine", since the images produced show these objects as they appeared at the time their light left them. Below are some of these images. Enjoy them, and consider the vast scale of our Universe!
