The Pegasus I Galaxy Cluster

The Pegasus I Galaxy cluster is located between the Great Square of Pegasus and the "Circlet" in the constellation of Pisces. It contains over 20 galaxies. Like the Virgo cluster, Pegasus I is dominated by two giant elliptical galaxies, NGCs 7619 and 7626, which appear near the center of the image. Both of these galaxies shine at about 11.1 magnitude. They are surrounded by many fainter galaxies, both spiral and elliptical. Some face-on, and others edge-on. Most of the galaxies in the cluster lie at distances of between 150 and 180 million light years from Earth.

It is a 1 hour 30 minute integration of 2 minute exposures through the AT-92 92mm f/5.5 APO Refractor, using the ZWO 2600MC Pro CMOS camera operating at 0 degrees and binned 1 X 1. Captured in NINA, guided by PHD2, Combined and processed in PixInsight and post processed in PhotoShop 2025 using levels, curves, StarShrink and HLVG.
