Supernova in galaxy NGC-7331

A bright type 1a supernova exploded in the galaxy NGC-7331, and was discovered o July 14, 2025. At its peak it reached a magnitude of 11.8. By the time this image was taken, however, it had faded until it was only about magnitude 15. Due to its location in the core of the galaxy, it is not easily seen, but is clearly visible in this annotated image taken on August 20, 2025.
