M-81, M-82 & NGC-3077

This group of galaxies in Ursa Major is dominated by the large, grand design spiral galaxy M-81, right-center. To the upper right is the peculiar galaxy M-82, and, at the left edge of the image is the smaller spiral galaxy NGC-3077. These galaxies and lie at a distance of approximately 12 million light years from Earth
This image was captured on the evening of April 20, 2026, and is a 2 hour 20 minute integration of 60 second exposures through a 92mm f/5.5 APO refractor using a ZWO 2600 MC Pro camera cooled to -0 degrees and binned 1 X 1. Captured in NINA, processed in PixInsight, post-processed in PhotoShop 2026.
