The Leo Trio (M-65, M-66 & NGC-3628)

Leo Trio

The famous Leo Trio is a beautiful grouping of three bright galaxies: M-65 (lower right) M-66 (upper right) and NGC-3628 (upper left). Sometimes called The M-66 group, this trio lies at a distance of approximately 35 million light years from Earth. This image was obtained in May 6th, 2021, and is a 1 hour and 20 minute integration of twenty 4-minute exposures through the Celestron C-11 telescope, using the HyperStar III imaging system and the ZWO ASI 071 MC CMOS camera operating at -10 degrees below ambient temperature and binned 1 X 1. Guided, captured and combined using Maxim DL5 Pro. Post processed using PhotoShop CS2, Gradient XTerminator, StarShrink, Carboni's Astro Tools and NoiseWare.
