Comet Lulin (C/2007 N3)

Comet Lulin (C/2007 N3). This image was acquired on the evening of March 16th, 2009, as the comet was passing the star Delta Geminorum in the constellation of Gemini. The comet has passed perihilion and is now heading out of the solar system. This is an integration of 60 second exposures through the Celestron C-11 telescope at f/2, using the HyperStar III imaging system and my first CCD camera, the original ORION STARSHOOT uncooled camera with a small (750 X 544 pixel) chip. Post processed in PhotoShop.
