                     "A New Telescope!"
Two nights spent helping my neighbor set up and
learn how to use his Celestron C-8 convinced me that this was the scope with which I would resume my journey in astronomy. Assembling, setting up and actually observing with this telescope showed me its quality and potential. I immediately sent a check to Celestron Pacific for a C-8, tripod, wedge and accessories. When the scope arrived, I set it up in my living room where it remained for several days while I admired its precision workmanship! Soon, I was carting it out onto my back patio every chance I got to once again observe the Moon and planets. The views through the new telescope far surpassed any that I had had with my old home made 6-inch Newtonian. I soon became a dedicated Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (SCT) user.
TO THE RIGHT IS A PICTURE OF MY C-8 SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED IT IN 1973.
